MENTOR 37: Charles Loretto "Playing Quarterback"

For the last 16 years, Charles Loretto has been an Investment Advisor Representative with Cain Watters and Associates. Each week, he presents to dental schools, residency programs, study clubs, dental symposiums and state and national dental meetings. He works daily with dentists and other healthcare providers to carefully choose the financial team that will guide their practices and manage their personal finances. He is also the founder of National Dental Placements, a CWA affiliate company that assists doctors in buying, transitioning and valuation of a practice.

Ms. Wendel joined T Bank in 2006 as Market President in Dental, Professional, and Executive lending with the primary responsibility of developing the Bank’s highly successful national dental lending platform from the ground up. In addition to serving the lending needs of dental professionals, her role includes working with their trusted advisors crafting financing solutions to meet their clients’ financial goals. Ms. Wendel graduated with a B.A. from UC Berkeley, and in 1994 she joined the Matsco Companies, a financing company that was subsequently purchased by Wells Fargo. She started out as an inside sales representative in both the commercial, industrial, and dental industries, transitioning after two years to a full-time role in outside sales for the West Coast dental lending division. From there, she was promoted to Business Development Officer for Wells Fargo’s National Dental Programs division.

Bidding adieu to his last "real job" as Al Gore's speechwriter, Dan Pink went freelance to spark a right-brain revolution in the career marketplace.With a trio of influential bestsellers, Dan Pink has changed the way companies view the modern workplace. In the pivotal "A Whole New Mind", Pink identifies a sea change in the global workforce -- the shift of an information-based corporate culture to a conceptual base, where creativity and big-picture design dominates the landscape.
His latest book, "The Adventures of Johnny Bunko", is an evolutionary transformation of the familiar career guide. Replacing linear text with a manga-inspired comic, Pink outlines six career laws vastly differing from the ones you've been taught. Members of the Johnny Bunko online forum participated in an online contest to create the seventh law -- "stay hungry."
 

MENTOR 31: Dan Wicker "Financial Fundamentals"

Dan is an alumnus of Kansas State University and began his career at KPMG. He joined Cain Watters and Associates as a financial planner in 1997. When the company developed a partnership structure in 2008, Dan was elected to oversee CWA as its managing partner due to his previous success in serving over 100 clients for over 10 years.
In addition to seeing long-term clients, he oversees the financial planning process as well as the financial planners as the managing partner. He regularly shares his knowledge at the CWA Practice Transition Seminar, dental society meetings and study clubs nationwide.
He is a Certified Financial Planner and has a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) license from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also an Investment Advisor Representative and a member of the Texas Society of CPAs.
Dan is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys spending as much time as possible waterskiing, snow skiing and running. He is married to Kim and has two children Justin and Jenna.
